When I was about 13 years old, I started helping my dad with his construction company by knocking on doors and setting up appointments for his small siding and window company in Aurora, CO. Imagine, being a young kid and having multiple doors slammed in your face, people yelling at you to get off their property, and hearing the word “no” 50-100 times a day. Would have been tough for average kids, but not me. I’ve always been determined to succeed and become successful. When others would have given up, I became more encouraged. More determined. Someone out there needed my help and I was going to find them. If I didn’t, we wouldn’t eat.
But despite the struggles of the “door to door” salesmen, this wasn’t even the worst part. What got to me the most was hearing about my neighbor who had thousands of dollars stolen from them by a “CON”-tractor. Or about hearing about another neighbor whose insurance company wouldn’t pay for the storm damage their property suffered a few weeks before but was more than happy to collect a premium payment. Over the years, I heard story after story like these and finally said enough is enough!
From the ashes of an untrustworthy, discombobulated industry, myself and Jonathan Friesen created NexGen Roofing & Exteriors with the goal of effectively representing clients by ensuring they receive their full and fair benefits from their insurance carrier and to provide open, transparent, high quality construction. We needed to combat the greedy insurance companies and fend off the incompetent, untrustworthy roofing contractors who may or may not be in business next year. We started NexGen to not only even the playing field, but to change the game entirely.
Today, we’ve helped thousands of customers settle claims more efficiently and faster than anyone else in the industry. We don’t work WITH your insurance company; we tackle them head on. For over 20 years, I’ve been committed to correcting the stigma in our industry and one day my children may or may not do the same, but at least I get to teach them to do what’s right, advocate for their customer 100%, and always fulfill a promise.
Jonathan Friesen is a Colorado Native that has planted his roots deep in the heart of his community. From an early age he was taught to do what is right and to be a man of his word. Before NexGen, Jonathan was pursuing the DEA but after he got his degree, he decided that wasn’t the path he wanted to take. Joel Massey and Jonathan worked at a country club together and it was there that they decided to start a business together. The cornerstone of NexGen was to be built with a country club manner. Meaning they would always go above and beyond for their clients no matter the situation. As NexGen grew, Jonathan realized there was a lot of corruption in the industry. Contractors were taking advantage of homeowners and property managers and this was unacceptable. Likewise, insurance companies were abusing their authority with policy holders by not properly paying what was owed to make the clients “whole”. This was intolerable and since the beginning Jonathan and Joel have been innovating new ways to combat these problematic trends. They have taken an approach to not work with the insurance companies but instead work with the policy holder to ensure they are taken care of no matter what. In doing so, NexGen has been able to be ahead of the industry not only by their remarkable service, but also by their ability to complete insurance claims in record times without settling for less and without cutting corners. Jonathan is proud to say there is not one contract NexGen hasn’t fully fulfilled. He is confident of his team and will always expect nothing less than the best for NexGen and for his clients.
